Undergraduate Research

The Center for Safe and Healthy Children supports the research-training for the undergraduates through research immersion experiences and internship placements in the Child Health Study, which is an official internship placement for the intercollege Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies minor and the Departments of Biobehavioral Health and Human Development and Family Studies. There are many additional projects focused on child health and preventing child abuse where you can gain experience and receive research credit.

Contact Tom Crist to get involved in research.

Undergraduate Scholarships

The de Lissovoy Intern scholarship

The de Lissovoy Intern scholarship, funded through an endowment in honor of Vladimir de Lissovoy, provides funding for the prevention of child sexual abuse, the treatment of victims of child sexual abuse, and the study of issues related to child sexual abuse.

The scholarship supports one student per year to go to each of the following locations: the Centre County Children's Advocacy Center, Centre County Child and Youth Services, and Dauphin County Children and Youth Services.

Students will receive applications in December of each year for the following fall, spring, and summer semesters.  The application will outline the eligibility requirements, award amounts, and expectations for receiving the award.

The Reducing Disparities in Child Welfare scholarship
