Through advanced training in research, leadership, education, and community engagement, Penn State Nutritional Sciences (NUTR) graduate students take part in a breadth of experiences that include applied research in clinical and community settings, as well as a robust body of research focusing on cellular and molecular mechanisms of specific nutrients in relation to metabolism and other physiological properties.

NUTR offers three flexible graduate programs:

Ranked as one of the nation’s top programs of its kind by The National Research Council, the Penn State NUTR graduate program promotes and develops leaders in nutrition and graduates who are proficient in the use of evidence-based strategies to improve health and optimize quality of life. Whether pursuing your master’s or Ph.D., you’ll learn by working alongside expert faculty who are leaders in the field to gain scientific perspective on how to positively impact people’s lives through nutritional practices.
