Athletic Training Major
Undergraduate Athletic Training program transitioning to Graduate level
In response to the "AT Strategic Alliance Degree Statement," Penn State closed enrollment to the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training curriculum in Spring Semester 2021. Students seeking to earn an entry-level degree from the University may now do so through the new Master of Athletic Training program.
Accreditation
The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree is a competency-based professional program accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program earned initial accreditation in 1997, and reaccreditation in 2008, and 2019. The next accreditation review, including site visit, is scheduled for the 2028-2029 cycle. Read more about professional education and clinical competency in athletic training here.

Outcomes
Basic program information that includes recent rates for passing the national Board of Certification (BOC) exam, matriculation, and post-graduate placement are archived by the CAATE. Penn State’s outcomes are accessible at https://caate.net/program-info/191/.
