Kinesiology Alumni Group
About the Kinesiology Alumni Group
The Kinesiology Alumni Group is an Affiliate Program Group chartered by the College of Health of Human Development. Affiliate Program Groups (APGs) are chartered by their college or campus alumni society. APGs are similar to societies, with the exception that this connection is focusing on the promotion and development of the academic department rather than the entire college or campus. Some APG activities include networking, mentoring, and student recruitment. An Affiliate Program Group (APG) consists of alumni or friends of Penn State who have a common interest in a particular academic, professional, or extracurricular activity that is related to a specific college or campus program.
The Kinesiology Alumni Group was founded to unite Kinesiology alumni with each other and with Kinesiology faculty, staff, and students. Chartered in 1998, the Kinesiology Alumni Group is an affiliate group of the Penn State Alumni Association and the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Society. All alumni of Kinesiology and predecessor programs are automatically members of the Alumni Group.
The Kinesiology Alumni Group provides opportunities for alumni to connect with peers, faculty, staff, and students. The Alumni Group welcomes alumni from predecessor programs including Exercise & Sport Science and Health and Physical Education. The A promotes and supports the Department of Kinesiology through mentoring programs, professional activities, and sponsorships of awards.
The Alumni Group works closely with the Kinesiology Club, a registered student organization at Penn State. The Kinesiology Club has over 100 active members who host events and participate in University wide efforts such as Dance Marathon.
The Kinesiology Alumni Group is a way to join the community of alumni who support Penn State. We encourage you to get involved with the Alumni Group and strengthen the network of Kinesiology alumni.
