As a Biobehavioral Health (BBH) major, you will leverage your Penn State education and a vast network of like-minded professionals to pursue a fulfilling career that addresses modern-day health issues from all angles within the complex world of health care and healing.

There is a seemingly endless array of positions in which your skills and knowledge will be put to great use, including:

Interested in pursuing a career as a healthcare provider? The skills and knowledge that you gain in the BBH program provide a great foundation. With post-baccalaureate professional education, you may work as a medical doctor, a physician’s assistant, a nurse, a physical therapist, or an occupational therapist.

Public Health icon-olus-circle

This program may be right for those interested in working in research or as a government employee with groups such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or a state health department. In this work, you may help identify health concerns facing a particular population or conduct research on how an epidemic can be averted.

Community Health Promotion icon-olus-circle

For those interested in the social aspect of health, you may work for a services organization that helps brings health awareness and best practices to light for others. You may also work to influence policy and public opinion on health issues.

Employee/Corporate Health icon-olus-circle

If you are interested in helping companies keep their employees healthy, you may work for a corporation to deliver health promotion and intervention programs to support employees’ wellness. Or you may help advocate for patients within a health system or health plan.

Become a Protégé

As a junior, our Mentor Program allows you an opportunity to be matched with a professional in your field(s) of interest who can offer advice and information about career options and other related issues. The program allows you to explore internships, career choices, and plans after graduation with your mentor.
