Ann C. Crouter Early Career Faculty Award
The Ann C. Crouter Early Career Faculty Award recognizes outstanding faculty members in the College of Health and Human Development who exhibit academic excellence early in their careers.
- Eligibility
-
Consideration for this award shall be given to outstanding faculty members in the College of Health and Human Development, or successor academic unit who:
- will have been in the College of Health and Human Development no longer than 10 years and
- will not yet have attained the highest faculty rank (e.g., Professor, Teaching Professor, and Research Professor).
Academic excellence refers to outstanding accomplishments in the domains of performance expected of the faculty member's position.
- For a tenure track faculty member, the focus would be on individuals who combine excellent research with strong teaching (both inside and outside the classroom) and a high level of commitment to service and/or outreach.
- For a non-tenure track faculty member, the focus would be on the primary area of responsibility (i.e., excellent teaching or excellent research), coupled with a high level of commitment to service and/or outreach.
Each award shall be for one academic year. Further extraordinary accomplishments by a recipient may enable that recipient to be again considered for this award during their eligibility period.
- Nominate
-
Faculty will be nominated by their department heads or research center directors.
To submit a nomination, please complete the on-line nomination form and provide the following documentation:
- Nomination letter from respective unit head or research center director that details how the candidate's contribution meets the criteria.
- Updated curriculum vitae
(If a curriculum vitae is not submitted, the Dean's staff will provide documentation from Activity Insight for the nomination packet given to the selection committee.)
- Selection
-
Recipients will be selected by a committee that includes senior faculty members and, once the program is up and running, at least one previous recipient of the award.
Recipient will be notified early in the fall semester. A recognition gift and a monetary award will be presented to the recipient during the fall HHD Annual Awards Ceremony.
- Questions
-
If you have any questions about the award or nomination process, please call (814) 865-1428 or email pennstatehhd@psu.edu.
