Caroline Horn

4th-Year Student

My name is Caroline and I am a fourth year student with a double major in HDFS and Early Childhood Education. I am currently in the process of conducting my research for my honors thesis for the Schreyer Honors College. I am a research assistant for Dr. Sunny Bai, and am working on research about family cohesion and its impact on children’s connectedness to school.

I work part-time at a local preschool in State College as an assistant teacher and hope to teach pre-k or kindergarten once I graduate. This summer I will be teaching a social-emotional enrichment program for the children at my center who are going into kindergarten. On the weekends, I volunteer and care for cats at the Centre County PAWS animal shelter.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, spending time with friends and family, and being outside. I also like to craft, paint and crochet! My favorite Penn State memory is my first time in Beaver Stadium as a freshman. My favorite creamery ice cream flavor is grilled stickies!
