First-Year Seminars in the College of Health and Human Development

The College of Health and Human Development has two goals in its approach to First-Year Seminars.

  1. Helping students make the transition to college
  2. Helping students explore an academic interest or major

To accomplish these goals, the college has students take two linked courses:

  1. PSU 14, a course on the transition to college life and the College of Health and Human Development
  2. A thematic course that explores topics related to the major fields. Students can choose from several different thematic course options.

Below you will find a brief overview of PSU 14 and a variety of thematic course options. Students can explore these choices with their academic adviser during New Student Orientation.
